Sheila and Steve's Hindu Wedding in Michigan
Last spring, I was fortunate enough to photograph Sheila and Steve's two-day long wedding fest in Michigan. They had a garden party in Ann Arbor during the day and then headed to an elegant dinner at the University of Michigan where they met. Day two was a traditional Hindu ceremony at the Hindu Temple of Canton. I consider Sheila one of the most special people I know since we met working at the State News. She is intelligent, curious, and incredibly caring. Although I only get to see her and Steve once every few years, our visits never fail. She has found an amazing partner in Steve, an amazing, patient and funny Tennessean. I love these two so much, and wish them all the best. Congrats Sheila and Steve!
Madrid Wedding Preview at Finca Aldeallana // Gonzalo + Laura
Laura and Gonzalo had a lovely wedding celebrated at Finca Aldeallana outside of Madrid. Their two gorgeous sons were right there with them throughout the big day. I look forward forward to sharing more images from this beautiful Spanish wedding. Congratulations to this stunning family!
Costa Blanca Wedding Preview // Anna and Dom
Dom and Anna had a destination wedding in Javea, Spain with all their loved ones from England in attendance. The ceremony and reception was at the beautiful Bon Amb Restaurant. Congratulations to this beautiful couple who are becoming fast friends of ours.
Moments
Wedding season is in full swing and I love planning and scouting for portraits in new venues and locations. However, found moments like this from a wedding last weekend are my favorite. I love to hunt around at receptions for real things, emotions, and moments to tell the story of the day. I hope everybody is having a great start to summer and enjoying the spontaneous moments around us all.
A Quick Look at a Stunning Wedding at The Liljestrand House in Honolulu
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to photograph an amazing couple who had their Honolulu wedding at the Liljestrand House, a gem of mid-century modern Hawaiian architecture. It was a treat to visit the house, especially with such a beautiful and gracious group. I look forward to sharing more photography from this lovely Honolulu wedding.
Intimate Destination Wedding on Oahu's North Shore // Matt and Heather
I've already written about what a treat it was to photograph this beautiful family, but I am excited to share more from their destination wedding on Oahu's North Shore. I feel grateful that I got to be a part of such a special and intimate occasion with these two and their adorable baby boy. Heather and Matt did it right! Heather looked beautiful in her Grace Loves Lace dress (brides: check out their site!) and Kahu Pomaika‘i ordained a lovely non-denominational Hawaiian ceremony right on Kawela Bay. It was a dreamy event full of Aloha.
Big Island Maternity Photography // Jaime and Erik
Jaime and Erik had me over to the beautiful Big Island property where they live just above Kona with the most amazing garden. I really hope they have me back to photograph their new baby and tour around the plants a bit more. These two are so excited to bring a new life into the world and it was a pleasure to photograph them in this beautiful time in a family's story. Aloha.
Big Island Family Photography at the Four Seasons
Kelly, Grace, and Katherine were vacationing at their favorite spot, the Four Seasons Resort at Hualalai, for spring break from Southern California. I had a great time getting to know this lovely family on their Hawaiian vacation. Isn't Katherine the sweetest? Aloha!
Hawaii Love Session // Andy and Julie on the Big Island
Andy and Julie Fitts are friends and fellow creatives here on the Big Island. I knew they would be great photo subjects because they are gorgeous, up for anything, and have a really fun and playful relationship. We photographed with soft serve at the Old Airport in Kona and ended at the beach at Kukio. Everything was perfect + they let me take pictures while driving!
A Quick Look at the Ideal Hawaii Elopement at Kawela Bay
Oh. My. Goodness. I just arrived home from my travels to this beautiful wedding where I photographed Matt and (baby Selby) Heather's elopement at Kawela Bay on the North Shore of Oahu. I know wedding photographers are always taking about all the love .. but this was pretty inspiring. I rushed home to hug and kiss my people a little extra after being around these three. Pretty amazing little family. I was so lucky to be a part of this totally perfect ceremony. The entire family was so calm and peaceful, they even helped me relax my wedding jitters, and I really loved Heather's understated whimsical style. I wish Heather, Matt and Selby a bright and beautiful future together full of aloha.
