Families, Kiddos, and Friends
I've started going through old shoots for the website revamp and I've realized there are so many lost frames that I wanted to share. This is a medley of mostly family shoots, but some friends, or magazine commissioned lifestyle, like the above photo for Spain's Revista MIA on living rich in times of economic hardship (hint: love up your loved ones), and some personal moments too.
Costa Blanca Spain Destination Wedding
Alberto and Anna had a zero fuss destination wedding in Denia, Spain last August and I was lucky enough to get to share in the fun with them and their lovely friends and family coming from the US, Argentina, and lots from Anna's native Germany. They had their ceremony at the ermita at Les Rotes and their outdoor reception at Vall de Cavall in Gatas de Gorgos. Congrats to this beautiful couple.
Kristi and Garrett // Kona Wedding Photographer
I don't know where to start about how sweet and genuine these two are (and beautiful!). I am so happy Kristi and Garrett found each other and invited me to be a part of such a special day. They decided to have a destination wedding on the Big Island after visiting the chapel at the Kona Sheraton and falling in love with the setting. Their ceremony and reception was dripping with love and emotion on a day with record high surf. Congratulations to you two!
Spanish Bride with Natalia Cholbi Custom Dress
Our friend Natalia Cholbi designs dresses in Spain and I keep meaning to blog some of these photos we shot in Javea last year of one of her beautiful pieces. Here is one for now...
Bikini Birdie in Kireei Magazine 5
I have had the pleasure of working on an assignment for Kireei Magazine since its first edition. In the latest 5th magazine, I am so happy to see an editorial piece (four pages!) about Bikini Birdie and my experience launching a wedding photography business in Spain. The piece touches on entrepreneurship, creative vision, and general how did I get where I am, for better, or for worse. Some of my favorite couples and weddings are featured in the magazine, including Bonnie and Tom, Gioia and Justin, Einar and Veronica, Craig and Laura, and Eishe and Javier. Muchas gracias Cristina y Kireei!
Aloha // Big Island Lifestyle Photography
I had a complete blast photographing Justin and Emily around my Kona neighborhood on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Justin is a talented surfer who works with Surfers Healing and Emily is a California girl loving the sun and surf here in Hawai'i. Here are a few favorites from the shoot. Lots more to come.
Eggplant with Joan Namkoong // Hawaii Food Photographer
I photographed eggplant prepared two different ways for an ongoing column on vegetables by Hawai'i food writer Joan Namkoong.
High Tech Design Off the Grid in Hawai'i
I photographed the Sheinfeld Rodriguez design team, Loomis and Daniel, on the organic farm in Holualoa, Hawai'i where they live off the grid. The German blog Stilnest wrote about their high tech design process and the rural lifestyle they live on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. I photographed Loomis and Daniel before with their son, Veda here on the Big Island. Pretty cute goat hanging out at their desk, right?

Big Island Family Photography // Four Seasons Hualalai
I was lucky enough to photograph this cute family on their Hawaiian vacation at the Four Seasons Resort Hulalai at Historic Ka'upulehu on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
Einar and Veronica // Costa Blanca Destination Wedding Photographer
Einar and Veronica are lovely, genuine, and madly in love. Their Costa Blanca destination wedding reflected that in every way. They had a moving ceremony in Villajoyosa at the Norwegian church, then to old town Altea and Calpe for photos before landing at L'Olleta Chiringuito in Altea for the reception. They had barely more than a dozen guests which kept things intimate and special. Einar is a photographer, which sometimes can be intimidating, but it was a total pleasure to work with him as he trusted in my vision one hundred percent. We are spending most of the year in Hawai'i now but we save summers for Spain (¡claro que sí! ) and these photos remind me of the beautiful Mediterranean we have to look forward to.
